A 15-year-old boy from Cambria died in a single-vehicle crash near Harmony in San Luis Obispo County, the California Highway Patrol confirmed.

The victim was identified as Josue Villanueva Sandoval. According to CHP, Sandoval was riding as a passenger in a Chevrolet Camaro driven by an 18-year-old man when the car struck a guardrail around 11 p.m. near Sea West Road, went down an embankment, hit a large rock, and overturned.

Sandoval was pronounced dead at the scene. A 17-year-old from Cambria sustained major injuries, and a 19-year-old woman from Paso Robles suffered moderate injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
