
A tragic head-on collision Tuesday night on the Arrigoni Bridge in Portland claimed the life of one person and seriously injured another, authorities said.
According to the Portland Police Department, the crash occurred around 8:43 p.m. when a westbound Subaru collided head-on with an eastbound Ford Escape.
The Subaru’s driver, 70-year-old Jozef Baran, of Middletown, sadly died at the scene. The Ford’s 31-year-old female driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment.
