Juan Roberto Lopez-Gomez, 58, died Saturday afternoon after a semi-truck struck his bicycle on Old Stage Road in Monterey County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 2 p.m. near the intersection of Old Stage Road and Esperanza Road.
According to investigators, Lopez-Gomez was riding his bicycle when a Kenworth semi-truck made a right turn onto Old Stage Road and collided with him.
The truck was operated by a 61-year-old man from Yuma, Arizona.
Lopez-Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene.
