Authorities are continuing to investigate a fatal multi-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in South Los Angeles that claimed the life of 18-year-old Juan Sanchez Salas.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, emergency responders were dispatched shortly after 2 p.m. to the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Colden Avenue after reports of a serious collision involving several vehicles.
Investigators said Salas suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional people were injured and transported to an area hospital for further medical treatment.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner publicly identified Salas on Wednesday as officials worked to determine the cause of the collision.
No additional information regarding the vehicles involved or possible contributing factors has been released.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
