A motorcyclist was killed Thursday morning after being struck by a driver who then fled the scene on Highway 101 in Palo Alto, authorities say.
The California Highway Patrol said the motorcyclist, who has not been identified, was struck by an Acura TL driven by Julian Adame Jr. at approximately 6:05 a.m. in the No. 4 lane of southbound Highway 101, south of University Avenue. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said Adame left the area following the crash. He was located roughly six hours later, around 12:15 p.m., in Cutler, after abandoning the Acura. He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
