
One woman is dead and another person is fighting for their life after a vehicle struck two pedestrians in the early morning hours Friday in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles, the LAPD confirmed.
Kristen Lawson, 27, of Palmdale, was one of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Venice Boulevard and S. Oak Street at around 1:20 a.m. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced Lawson deceased. She was 27 years old.
The second pedestrian involved in the collision was transported to a hospital, where they remained in critical condition, according to authorities.
The driver of the vehicle did not flee the scene and cooperated with LAPD officers who responded to the crash. No further information regarding what may have caused the collision has been made public. The Los Angeles Police Department is continuing its investigation into the fatal incident.
