Leonel Mateo died Thursday after being struck by a vehicle that careened into a Ranch Market Grocery Store in Westwood, police reported.
The LAPD said the crash occurred around 12:11 p.m. when a vehicle driven by an unidentified 92-year-old woman entered the store at the intersection of Westwood Boulevard and Rochester Avenue. Mateo and two others were fatally injured.
Four people were hospitalized, including two 35-year-old men in critical condition and two men, ages 37 and 38, listed in fair condition. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
