Law enforcement officials are investigating a deadly wrong-way crash in Coachella that claimed two lives on Interstate 10 late Tuesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Camry entered the eastbound lanes of I-10 traveling in the wrong direction near Dillon Road at around 10 p.m. and collided head-on with a Honda Accord.
One of the victims in the Honda Accord was identified as Lizeth Duran Martinez, 39, of Phoenix. Another occupant of the vehicle also died as a result of the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and the cause of the wrong-way driving.
