Law enforcement officials are investigating a fatal DUI-related crash that claimed the life of a woman in Huntington Beach late Wednesday night.
According to police, a BMW 328i driven by Lukas McArgue struck the rear of a Kia Soul on Pacific Coast Highway near Warner Avenue at around 10:40 p.m.
The force of the collision pushed the victim’s vehicle off the roadway and into a marsh, where it became partially submerged. The driver of the Kia, a 53-year-old woman, died at the scene.
Authorities arrested McArgue following the crash. He faces charges including gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI involving alcohol and drugs.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
