A hit-and-run crash on Western Avenue has claimed the life of a 23-year-old man, according to police.
Mark Cooper and another pedestrian were struck by a light-colored sedan at approximately 10:55 p.m. at the intersection of Western Avenue and 56th Street. The driver of the sedan fled immediately after the collision.
Both victims were rushed to a medical facility for treatment. Cooper was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
Authorities have not released information on the condition of the second victim or the identity of the suspect driver. The case remains under active investigation.
