Authorities are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that resulted in the deaths of a mother and her child after their vehicle entered a canal.
According to police, Martha Hernandez and her son Adrian Hernandez were inside an SUV that was struck by a driver who allegedly ran a red light near Fresno Street.
The collision caused the vehicle to veer into a canal. While the driver fled, emergency crews later recovered the victims.
Adrian Hernandez was located downstream following an extended search. Officials are continuing efforts to identify and locate the suspect involved.
