Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a McFarland resident during foggy conditions Thursday morning.
According to the McFarland Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 6 a.m. at Garzoli Avenue and Whisler Road. A vehicle carrying passenger Matilde Munoz Santillano, 64, collided with a truck amid reduced visibility caused by heavy fog.
Santillano died at the scene from crash-related injuries. She was identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office following the incident.
Officials have not released additional details regarding injuries to other individuals involved. The investigation remains active.
