Authorities are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred early Monday on the westbound 91 Freeway in Carson.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a minivan and a passenger vehicle were involved in a crash near Central Avenue shortly after midnight. Matthew Hellums, 38, died at the scene.
Another person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Investigators have not yet released details regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash.
