Law enforcement officials are investigating a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 10 in Coachella that left two people dead Tuesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Camry entered the eastbound lanes of I-10 traveling in the wrong direction and collided head-on with a Honda Accord near Dillon Road at around 10 p.m.
The driver of the Honda, identified as Meliton Perez Dominguez, was killed in the crash. Another occupant in the vehicle also died from injuries sustained in the collision.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the wrong-way entry onto the freeway.
