A fatal rollover crash in Modesto has led to the arrest of a 39-year-old driver after one passenger was killed and two others were hospitalized, officials said.
According to CHP, Michael Anthony Smith was driving a Honda sedan on Santa Fe Avenue when it veered off the road near Claus Road, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times around 4:55 a.m.
A female passenger died at the scene, while two additional occupants were transported to a local hospital with injuries. Smith was later arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges.
