
Oakland police are continuing to investigate a deadly hit-and-run crash Saturday night that killed Miguel Sanchez Ramirez and two other men while injuring three additional people near International Boulevard.
Officials said the crash occurred around 11:15 p.m. outside East Bay Market & Liquor near 85th Avenue and International Boulevard. Investigators reported that a pickup truck left the roadway and drove onto the sidewalk, striking multiple pedestrians gathered outside the business.
Miguel Sanchez Ramirez, 44, was among those killed in the collision. Emergency responders transported three injured victims to area hospitals for treatment.
Authorities arrested a 17-year-old suspect shortly after the crash. Investigators allege the teen was traveling at more than 50 mph in a 25-mph zone before the incident occurred.
The suspect faces charges including vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run as the investigation continues.
