Authorities are investigating a fatal train incident that claimed the life of a pedestrian Saturday afternoon in Barstow, California.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, emergency personnel responded at approximately 12:47 p.m. to the BNSF Railroad tracks near Yucca Avenue after reports of a train striking a person on the tracks.

Officials confirmed that 55-year-old Mykeon Tanner was found at the scene and pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the collision.

Investigators have not yet released information about how the incident occurred or whether any additional factors were involved.

The investigation into the fatal railroad accident remains ongoing.
