A fatal pedestrian accident occurred early Saturday on Interstate 8 in San Diego, claiming the life of a 21-year-old man, according to officials.
The San Diego County Department of the Medical Examiner reported that Naryon Nicholas Esplain was crossing Interstate 8 near Mollison Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle at about 1:20 a.m.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Esplain was declared dead due to injuries sustained in the collision.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
