Authorities arrested a 52-year-old motorist after a hit-and-run collision on River Road in Oakdale left two people seriously injured.
CHP investigators said Navin Sharma Kumar crossed into oncoming traffic around 12:47 a.m., crashing his Mercedes-Benz into an eastbound Kia SUV. Both vehicles left the roadway, with one colliding with a tree in an orchard.
Two passengers in the Kia were transported to Memorial Medical Center with severe injuries, while the teen driver sustained minor injuries.
Kumar allegedly fled the scene and was later found at a Modesto residence, where he was taken into custody on multiple felony charges.
