Authorities are investigating a deadly DUI crash in North Hollywood that claimed the life of Nefi Lopez Gutierrez and another pedestrian early Sunday.
Police said Gutierrez and a ????? companion had exited a stopped Toyota Camry when they were struck by a speeding Acura. The impact also caused the Acura to crash into the Camry, which still contained three occupants.
Gutierrez died from multiple blunt-force injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. The suspected driver, Vidal Cruz Jr., was taken into custody and booked on murder charges. Investigators continue to gather evidence related to the crash.
