A 31-year-old Long Beach man died Monday night after being struck by a Toyota Tundra while riding a scooter on Walton Street, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Nicholas Thompson was attempting to turn from Stanbridge Avenue onto westbound Walton Street when the collision occurred at about 10 p.m. in the 5300 block of Walton Street.
According to police, Thompson was struck by an eastbound Toyota Tundra. The Tundra driver reportedly saw Thompson but could not avoid the crash.
Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Tundra was not injured and remained at the location.
Police said speed, distracted driving and impairment are not considered factors in the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Long Beach Police Department.
