Authorities are continuing to investigate a fatal pedestrian collision in Santa Monica that claimed the life of a woman Friday afternoon after she was struck by a Metro bus.
According to police, Nicole Koschak, 39, was walking near Main Street and Ocean Park Boulevard when she was struck by a westbound Metro Line 33 bus that was pulling away from a stop at approximately 2:40 p.m.
Koschak sustained fatal blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials confirmed that investigators are still working to determine the sequence of events leading up to the crash.
