Authorities arrested a 22-year-old man following a fatal pedestrian collision early Thursday in downtown Los Angeles.

Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department reported that Orlando Larios was driving a Nissan Kicks the wrong way on Ninth Street at approximately 2:10 a.m. when he hit a pedestrian near Towne Avenue.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials stated that Larios was under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently booked on suspicion of felony DUI.

The crash remains under investigation.
