
Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision on Interstate 35E that left a Forest Lake man dead Sunday evening.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Chevrolet Cruze went off the northbound lanes near County Road J and came to rest in the median. The driver, later identified as 66-year-old Paul Nicholas Theis, exited the vehicle and walked into the roadway.
A northbound Honda CR-V struck Theis, who died at the scene. The Honda’s 26-year-old driver from Centerville was not injured. Troopers confirmed that alcohol was not involved in the crash.
Multiple agencies, including Lino Lakes Police and Allina EMS, responded. State Patrol officials concluded their investigation early Monday.
