Authorities are investigating a fatal rollover crash that occurred on Interstate 5 in Shasta County amid wet road conditions.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle lost control near the Statton Road exit after drifting toward the median and over-correcting.
The vehicle struck a concrete barrier, crossed traffic lanes, and overturned. Passenger Peggy Sue Whitehurst, 65, later died from her injuries at a hospital.
The driver was also injured in the crash. CHP continues to investigate the incident.
