A two-vehicle collision early Thursday on U.S. Highway 35 claimed the lives of two people, authorities confirmed.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 6 a.m. near Plantation Road when a pickup truck reportedly turned in front of a southbound vehicle. The collision caused the second vehicle to overturn.
Two individuals inside that vehicle were pronounced dead as a result of their injuries. The pickup driver was hospitalized. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
