Houston police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run that claimed the life of Rafael Navarro Jaurequi.
According to investigators, the crash occurred when a Toyota Camry traveling northbound struck Jaurequi as he crossed N. Houston Rosslyn Road.
The driver fled but later returned to the scene, where officers took him into custody. He was identified as 18-year-old Eli Doblado.
Jaurequi, 76, died at the scene. Doblado now faces a charge of failure to stop and render aid resulting in death and remains held on bond.
The case remains under active investigation.
