Authorities are investigating a fatal bicycle crash that occurred Sunday night on a Bakersfield freeway off-ramp.
The California Highway Patrol said Renessa Leanne Holguin, 44, was traveling west on the Union Avenue off-ramp from State Highway 178 shortly after 9 p.m. when she was struck by a Honda sedan moving in the same direction.
Holguin was ejected from the bicycle during the collision and later pronounced dead due to her injuries. The driver, a 23-year-old man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Officials said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
