Authorities in Santa Ana are continuing to investigate a fatal traffic accident involving an e-bike rider that claimed the life of Rey Flores.
According to police, Flores was riding an electric bicycle near the intersection of Chestnut and Cypress avenues at about 9:35 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported Flores to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Officials said Flores later died from injuries sustained in the collision three days after the incident.
Investigators have not announced whether impairment, speed, or other contributing factors played a role in the crash. The case remains under active investigation by Santa Ana police.
