Law enforcement officials are investigating a fatal bicycle collision in Calistoga that claimed the life of a 79-year-old man early Saturday morning.
According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, Robert French was riding his bicycle along Dunaweal Lane near Silverado Trail when he entered the eastbound lanes and was struck by a Ford Mustang at approximately 6:35 a.m.
The cyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say the circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation, and no further details have been released.
