Gulfport police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that claimed the life of a local man Wednesday evening.
Officials said Roberto Martinez, 61, was hit by a vehicle around 7 p.m. on U.S. Route 49 near Lafayette Street. Martinez later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
No additional information has been released as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
