Authorities reported that a pedestrian died after being struck in a hit-and-run crash on New Year’s Eve in Lake Mathews.
The victim, identified as Ronney Vasquez, 61, of Moreno Valley, was hit at approximately 6 p.m. on El Sobrante Road. California Highway Patrol officials said the driver did not remain at the scene. Police continue to investigate and are requesting public assistance.
