A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon in the Allerton section of the Bronx, the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad reported.

Authorities said the crash happened at Holland Avenue and Allerton Avenue when a northbound 2005 Honda Odyssey began a left turn and hit a pedestrian in the crosswalk.

Rose Young, 80, was transported to Jacobi Hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly afterward.

The 56-year-old driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. No arrests have been made as investigators continue to review the circumstances.
