Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that claimed the life of a woman in a wheelchair Friday evening in Santa Ana.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, 55-year-old Sabrina Michelle Duran was struck by a vehicle at approximately 6:30 p.m. while crossing the street in the 600 block of North Grand Avenue.
Investigators said the driver left the scene but later returned and cooperated with law enforcement. Duran was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
No charges had been announced as of Friday night. The investigation is ongoing.
