Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving two work trucks that claimed the life of a pedestrian Tuesday morning in Laguna Beach.
The victim, Savannah Van Houtte, 25, of Irvine, was identified by the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
Officials said a CR&R trash truck and a Belshire Environmental Services work vehicle collided in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store located at 31702 Coast Highway near Third Avenue shortly after 10 a.m.
Van Houtte, who was struck during the incident, was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo but later succumbed to her injuries.
Officials did not immediately disclose what led up to the collision as the investigation continues.
