
Los Angeles police are searching for the driver of a pickup truck involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a 37-year-old woman early Saturday in Van Nuys.
The victim was identified as Shanniece McDowell. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, McDowell was struck at about 12:50 a.m. near Sepulveda Boulevard and Wyandotte Street.
Investigators said the pickup truck continued northbound on Sepulveda Boulevard without stopping after the collision. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but McDowell was pronounced dead there.
The LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division is investigating the crash and asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver and vehicle involved.
