Police and state troopers are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Saturday afternoon at a grocery store in Mason City.
The Iowa State Patrol reported that Sharon Vivian Hamm, 75, was hit by a southbound 2004 Chevy Tahoe in the Fareway parking lot on North Delaware Avenue at around 2:38 p.m. He was taken to MercyOne hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver, a 45-year-old man from Mason City, stayed at the scene. No further details were immediately released as authorities continue their investigation.
