Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of Shena Carty Sunday afternoon in Winter Haven.
According to PCSO, the 47-year-old was riding a 2006 Suzuki north on U.S. 17 when a Mercedes-Benz attempting a left turn onto Avenue O SW crossed into her lane, causing a collision around 4:15 p.m.
Carty was thrown from the motorcycle and later died at a hospital. The driver of the Mercedes sustained minor injuries. The cause of the accident is under review by the Traffic Homicide Investigations Unit.
