
California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred May 18 in Valley Springs and claimed the life of a Jamestown resident.
According to CHP, 53-year-old Terry Vanoverloop was operating a Honda sedan on Baldwin Street when another vehicle pulled out from the Good Samaritan Church parking lot and turned in front of her vehicle.
Authorities said the collision caused the Honda to overturn onto the east shoulder of the roadway. Vanoverloop was ejected during the rollover crash and sustained fatal injuries.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Vanoverloop later died from injuries suffered in the accident.
Investigators have not released additional details regarding the driver of the other vehicle or any potential contributing factors. The crash remains under active investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
