Authorities are investigating a deadly head-on crash involving a bus near Corning that resulted in six fatalities, including a local woman.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Trena Kay Kain, 62, was riding as a passenger on a TRAX bus when a southbound Toyota Tacoma crossed into oncoming lanes on State Route 99 west and struck the bus head-on at about 10 a.m.
Officials said the bus caught fire following the collision. Kain later died from her injuries. CHP is leading the investigation with assistance from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office.
