Victor Uriarte Madrid, 32, of Lompoc, died Tuesday after a Honda Pilot collided with a semi-truck on Highway 1 in Santa Barbara County, authorities reported.
The crash happened around 2:20 p.m. near Jalama Road. The collision involved Madrid’s Honda Pilot and a semi-truck, according to the Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Bureau.
Madrid was the driver of the Honda and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities initially released limited information about the accident. The circumstances and cause of the collision remain under investigation.
