Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that claimed the lives of two individuals early Sunday in North Hollywood.
Police said the victims had exited a stopped vehicle on Colfax Avenue when they were struck by a car traveling at a high rate of speed. Emergency responders pronounced both victims dead at the scene.
Vidal Cruz Jr. was taken into custody shortly after the crash and now faces two counts of murder. Officials believe impairment may have been a contributing factor.
