
A 27-year-old man died Monday night after he was struck by several vehicles while on the freeway in Highland Park, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported.
Officials with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner have identified the man killed in the crash as Vincent Mancillas.
According to CHP, officers arrived at the scene around 10:30 p.m. and located Mancillas in the No. 2 lane of the northbound Arroyo Seco Parkway (110 Freeway), just south of Avenue 60. Investigators believe Mancillas was struck by multiple vehicles before emergency crews arrived. One of the drivers involved in the collision remained at the scene following the crash.
CHP has not released further details on how Mancillas came to be on the freeway at the time of the crash.
The agency is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information to come forward by calling 213-744-2331. The investigation into the fatal crash remains active.
