California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a two-vehicle collision in unincorporated Livermore that claimed the life of a Walnut Creek woman.

According to authorities, 58-year-old Virginia Lynn Driscoll was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt northbound on Vasco Road shortly after 11 p.m. when the vehicle collided with a GMC Canyon pickup truck near Old Vasco Road.

Investigators said the pickup truck was attempting to turn left onto southbound Vasco Road when the collision occurred.

Driscoll was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries but later died on May 8, officials said.

The occupants of the GMC Canyon were also hospitalized with injuries of unknown severity.

The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
