California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred early Saturday morning along the Pomona (60) Freeway in Montebello and claimed the life of a 63-year-old man.

Officials identified the victim as Wade Wilson, who died from blunt force injuries sustained in the crash near the Paramount Boulevard exit at approximately 2:33 a.m.

According to investigators, emergency crews arrived at the scene and found Wilson inside a black sedan. Another person traveling in the same vehicle suffered injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not yet released information regarding the events leading up to the collision or whether other motorists sustained injuries.

The crash caused a significant emergency response along the freeway while investigators gathered evidence and cleared the scene. CHP officials continue to investigate the cause of the deadly accident.
