Authorities are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 395 in El Mirage.
According to officials, the collision happened at approximately 12:11 p.m. when a black Land Rover SUV and a white four-door sedan collided head-on along the southbound side of the highway near Shadow Mountain Road.
Xavier I. Macias, 19, of Victorville, died as a result of the crash, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office confirmed. Five other people were injured, including two who were critically hurt and transported by air to local trauma centers.
The incident remains under investigation by CHP.
